Office Hours

Jenny. Office hours. It traditionally meant coffee, a laptop, and research. This time, it also meant 80's rock music blasting, possibly at a volume that was a little too high. The door was closed, but not locked, and if you knew Jenny at all, you knew that you could open it right up and walk in.

OOC: Open for interaction. Thread with Su Pevensie is locked to her.

"Lorelai was trying for while before the baby came, but then she had other things to do, obviously." Susan shrugged slightly, still smiling, then asked, "And how has your week been?" The question did you find out anything? was sternly suppressed, despite how much she wanted to ask it.

Susan smiled, and tilted her head. "Any of them showing promise? Aside from Willow, I assume."

"Good to know." Hesitantly, because she had to ask, "Did you find out anything? In your computer research?"

Susan twisted her fingers together nervously. "How did you find this information? Do you still have the rings safe?"

"No," Susan said, sitting back, and thinking. "Although I shouldn't be surprised. He had no family of his own, after all. And he was old even when we first met him-- he must have been almost sixty when he died. What happened to it?"

Susan smothered a smile, and said, "Your source, yes. And -- well. I can see them putting it aside, and simply refusing to deal with it. That wouldn't be unlike them either."

"Ohhh," Susan sighed, disappointed. "I don't suppose you know who bought most of it? But it's been almost sixty years..."

"Still. If it's in America, and it's intact still-- we could possibly find it. His books, perhaps he wrote something down about Narnia. Or the wardrobe." Susan looked down at her hands. "He said he didn't think we could get back in that way, but still, it's like the rings. And perhaps it would give us *some* clue how they works."

Susan took the list, eyes widening, then quickly went down to find-- Applewood, 8'x 6'x 6' deep, with furs. "Oh, heavens. It *is* the right oone."

"He told us a story-- it was right after we got back, but it stuck with me." She put a hand to her temple, trying to remember. "He brought back an apple from Narnia when he was a boy. And the seeds from that apple were grown inside a garden in London. When the tree fell down in a storm, they turned the wood into a wardrobe." She stared at the list again, and said softly, "And we stepped into it, and walked out into Narnia."

Susan smiled ruefully. "You can see why I never talked about it, can't you."

[np! See you then!]

Laughing, Susan said, "Good point. Then yes. That's what we need to find."
