Jenny had coffee, a strange, handwritten dictionary, and her laptop and translation program.

"We meant to do some this summer, but never actually got around to it," admitted Elizabeth, grinning sheepishly. "I guess we'll end up in Cambridge for a weekend this term instead."

Jenny grinned. "Guess you and Janet got distracted," she said. "So you're thinking Harvard?"

Elizabeth blushed ever so faintly, and nodded. "Yeah, we both are," she said.

"You two look good together," said Jenny. "You know?"

Elizabeth smiled softly. "I like to think so at least," she said quietly.

Jenny nodded. "I wouldn't say it if it wasn't true," she said.

"Thank you, for saying it anyway," said Elizabeth, smiling.

"Oh, any time," Jenny said. "So you and she are both looking at the same college? That's way serious."

Elizabeth nodded slowly, biting at her lip.

"Serious is good," said Jenny. "You guys are old enough that you can do that level of serious. Wish I could."

Elizabeth frowned. "Why can't you?" she asked.

"I had a guy," said Jenny. "Sorta. He left town, though."

"I'm sorry to hear that," said Elizabeth quietly,

"Me too. Guess I gotta move on." Jenny shrugged. "Figure you get dumped by a guy twice? It's so not happening."

Elizabeth winced and nodded slightly. "Uh, yeah."

"He had issues, I guess," said Jenny. "Which I kinda get, given that I lied to him. And then just as we were coming back from that? Well, I was murdered. Even though I'm not dead any more, I guess that's hard to get past."

Elizabeth just nodded, her eyes wide.

"Okay, I overshared," said Jenny.

"Just a wee bit," admitted Elizabeth sheepishly.

"You know, I've got to remember that freaks everyone out," said Jenny. "I'm mostly over it by now."

"That's good?"

"It would suck to obsess over it for the rest of my life," said Jenny. "Besides, it could be worse. I could still be dead."
